It is always about this time of year when one begins to wonder if we will ever see anything green or new again....spring. BUT it is just around the corner! And I LOVE winter and snow! I also love the other seasons....though I am not a huge fan of HOT HOT temps.....or humidity. Here is a darling baby duck from last year....

LUNAR ECLIPSE FEBRUARY 2008 - NO tripod used...

yes.......I did capture a few images of the lunar eclipse last night.....but did not stay up to keep checking the progress as it came OUT of total eclipse. So these shots are of the moon GOING INTO total eclipse... and no.....I do not use a tripod. I stand up against the outside brick wall of my house and try to prop the back of my one upper arm against the brick to steady it a bit......point up and shoot. I am only using a 5 MP digital Lumix camera and zoomed to 40x.

TOTAL ECLIPSE

tonight is a lunar eclipse......

and if not too cloudy or cold I plan on being out there to capture some more moon shots if possible. I love photographing the moon. Here is one of mine from the fall last year.

giant clumped snowflakes on my windshield...

sitting outside my garage....ready to leave.....the snow was coming down in huge clumps. I wanted to snap some snowflakes hitting my windshield...hoping I could capture some of the flakes before they melted. Here is one...you see some of the flakes....some of them icy before they are melted....and some just droplets of water....after they melted...

something old and something tacky new....

I went around the other day snapping some photos of some of our MANY local gorgeous old churches. This one sits right across the street from another church....and right beside a business that has this tacky orange neon palm tree made out of plastic that LIGHTS UP at night.....yeah......I thought the contrast between the two was striking...




I love this part of the church......

the moon directly overhead....

When I was taking the trash out Thursday night I happened to look directly overhead and saw the moon. I decided to go get my camera and attempt taking some photos of the moon which was a lot harder than I thought shooting directly overhead with my hands and arms above my head. I thought the moon looked amazing with blue and orange colored clouds rolling around it. This is one of the best shots I got...
