Noah took this photo on the way home one night as the sun was setting. I think it is a pretty good shot, especially since we did not realize the water tower was in the photo until we enlarged it!

this will always be my favorite water tower

The water tower in the town of Arcanum....where my grandma and grandpa lived. There is something about it...I have always loved..maybe because it is in the town where I have a lot of happy memories.....it seems to have a personality all its own and I have many times thought about writing a children's book about this water tower. Hum........

When I was little it used to be silver, but it has been this color now for many years...so many in fact I have a difficult time remembering it ever being silver.

WHY the name PHOTOGRAPHY FOR DUMMIES?

Because I don't know much about the digital cameras I have used over the years....and yet I am able to take photographs. I have never made it through my entire instruction manual for any of my cameras. I started out with a little cheap 1MP camera.....and progressed from there. I still only have a 5MP Lumix.

Can I explain much about the settings I use or how I captured the shots I have? No, not really. Does that negate the value of the photo? No, not really. They are what they are and can more than stand alone based on their own value.

I want this blog to inspire and encourage even those who think they are clueless or a "dummy" when it comes to taking pictures to just get out there and DO IT! After all if I can get these shots....I am pretty sure you could too!
