This is a nice one. I had often thought about getting one like this but it isn't the style I saw in Japanese cemeteries when I was there. And at the time I was into building bridges and ponds and gardens and I wanted one like I got to go with what I was doing. Now it is covered in lichen and moss and sits mostly back out of the way.
This is a more modern design, and are probably used in more up to date cemeteries and other places as lanterns.
No I have only visited Cox Arboretum gardens a few times....it is very nice though.....and very large! Lots of flowers and trees and lakes with turtles and ducks.....etc...bit Japanese goldfish....koi.....
Because I don't know much about the digital cameras I have used over the years....and yet I am able to take photographs. I have never made it through my entire instruction manual for any of my cameras. I started out with a little cheap 1MP camera.....and progressed from there. I still only have a 5MP Lumix.
Can I explain much about the settings I use or how I captured the shots I have? No, not really. Does that negate the value of the photo? No, not really. They are what they are and can more than stand alone based on their own value.
I want this blog to inspire and encourage even those who think they are clueless or a "dummy" when it comes to taking pictures to just get out there and DO IT! After all if I can get these shots....I am pretty sure you could too!

Where did you see this one?
You did a nice job photographing it.
Thanks Dad....this was at Cox Arboretum....like 2 years ago I think....
We could use a couple of those, if they are able to light some way, around the back yard in some of the flowers. Nice photo.
Umm... What is this?
