this pigeons were inside the top floors of this building.....

I had gone to check it out.....as it is for sale........(this is the SIDE of the building which looks pretty crappy....not the front)

INSIDE the top floors was where the Masonic Lodge used to be ....and I really wanted to get a peek at the architecture inside......as I knew it would be amazing.  Well it was......but apparently the pigeons thought so too as many had gotten inside and had died inside.  It was a mess and I am sure a health hazard as well!  Here are a few pics of the BIG HALL room area inside where the Masonic Lodge had been.

I bet this was a beautiful place at one time. Makes you wonder why anyone lets something like this fall apart and don't keep it up so it's not a mess like it is now. I would think it would take thousands to repair and get it up to code before anyone could use it again.

This would have been an amazing place at one time. You can get a sense of what it was like by just looking at the stairs and railing and the beams and details around them.

The Masonic Lodge also met in the building across from the courthouse. The Jehovah's Witnesses had the back side of the third floor as their Kingdom Hall and the Masons had the front half. I used to be able to go in there and the outside walls were lined with medieval chairs with high backs and leather padded seats and ornate carpet etc.

The Kingdom Hall part was folding chairs in a big room.

So at some point, perhaps when Tom Hanes bought the building where the hall was, the Masons must have moved out and moved down there into your building.

Your building would take an enormous amount of work and money to make it over into something to live in. But you are young enough and if you got lots of time and money you could probably make something out of it.

What a neat old building! I like the staircase inside and even the covered walkway/staircase outside is pretty cool looking. Did you see all the little spots in your photos? Lots of spirits or whatever you want to call them!

Very interesting, very strange... So something (some kind of toxins?) in the building killed the poor pigeons? Hmmm... The interior of the building must have been something in its heyday.

no I imagine once they got in the building they got stuck in there and could not find their way back out as easily as they got in. They also replaced the windows.....so many may have been trapped in there. Most were old skeletons of dead birds....but there were 2 very FRESH ones...so they can still get in somewhere.
