a get together at my parents' house......

We got together to celebrate my upcoming birthday as well as my sister's birthday and also the upcoming Fourth of July holiday......

On the drive to their house we saw some magnificent clouds.....I had to snap a few of those....here is one from the front windshield......

Mom and dad have a lot of beautiful flowers in their backyard as well.....I saw NO butterflies yesterday but those little white ones that flitter around everyone's yards....

The hollyhocks are all blooming nicely right now. Chilly this morning and looks like more rain. Grass isn't long enough to mow today, so probably wait until tomorrow or Wed.

Thanks again for helping Becky, Gary and Melissa get everything straighten up and put away. I really appreciate that.

The yellow flower only opens on cloudy days and early in the morning or late in the evening. I don't really know the name but your photo is the best I have seen of it so far. Mine are washed out for some reason and it doesn't matter what I do.

I fed the birds this morning when it was misting out and the little rabbit you saw was still around the organge lilies out back where you saw him.

I think the two of them are still here.

I enjoyed your photography and I have been trying to imagine why you chose the location to shoot from and what you were thinking when you snapped the picture. Did you ever think about it before?

Thanks for your visit to my blog and for the comment there. I do my best to repay visits with visits and comments with comments.

Love you both

Dad:

are you asking me about the photo of the clouds and the highway on the way to your house Sunday? The clouds were all rolling in and it was just too great a shot to pass up. Same for the flowers....I just want to always capture what I see.....the essence of that moment I guess. Sometimes I can capture the "WOW" feelings I get when I see amazing things in nature on my camera....that is what I am thinking about if anything when I shoot.....trying to capture the AH factor on film so to speak so everyone else can enjoy and see it like I am seeing it.

Sometimes that translates well out on digital...other times I miss the mark altogether!
