The two photos at the bottom, the top one when enlarged it really is a very nice photo. Shows off all of his feathers and the colors are so bright. But he doesn't look too great from the back side. LOL I guess that's life, sometimes the backsides don't look that great.
I have been reading your blog for some time now. Got here from your Dad's blog. We used to have peacocks across the street from us a few years ago and they really are beautiful birds. However, they are also noisy. Keep up the good work.
Followed the link from your Dad's... wow, you are some kinda photographer! You sunsets are incredible... especially since you don't even stop! Oh, dear!
Melinda, I came over from your dads sight....you have a special gift at taking pictures....and I too am always going to read the manual...I probably wouldn't be that bad if I would give up the trial and error bit, and just read....your dad is a fabulous photographer....I love his pictures....I too live in OHIO... and sometimes I have to hunt for pictures to take....for Toledo is not that picturesque....nice peacocks..... judy
thanks for stopping by and the comments judy.....I like the ease of just pointing and shooting....no questions....just doing it..I enjoy that much more than having to get things just so-so or ready before snapping away!
Because I don't know much about the digital cameras I have used over the years....and yet I am able to take photographs. I have never made it through my entire instruction manual for any of my cameras. I started out with a little cheap 1MP camera.....and progressed from there. I still only have a 5MP Lumix.
Can I explain much about the settings I use or how I captured the shots I have? No, not really. Does that negate the value of the photo? No, not really. They are what they are and can more than stand alone based on their own value.
I want this blog to inspire and encourage even those who think they are clueless or a "dummy" when it comes to taking pictures to just get out there and DO IT! After all if I can get these shots....I am pretty sure you could too!

Love these shots. I've never seen the backside of a peacock before. Thanks to you, now I have. ;-)

Love that first peacock photo -- the blue is incredible, and the "eyes" in the feathers really stand out.
