I'll take my chances with the flu, thanks.
One of my uncles was affected by GBS during this time. I'm not positive that he had received the flu vaccine in use at the time, but I suspect he had. His paralysis was so intense that the only muscle in his body he could voluntarily move was one (1) eyelid! Had he not happened to be directly across the street from a hospital at the time he was stricken, and in the company of a knowledgeable person, he would have died. As it was, he spent 7 months on a respirator, and 18 months in rehabilitation after he was released from the hospital. He never recovered the ability to walk, and only partial use of his arms and hands. He did learn to speak again, but only after intense speech therapy.
yes..I never get a flu shot and would NEVER recommend most shots including flu shots to anyone! There are some horrific modifiers and things they add to most vaccines that do not belong in our bodies!
