LUNAR ECLIPSE FEBRUARY 2008 - NO tripod used...

yes.......I did capture a few images of the lunar eclipse last night.....but did not stay up to keep checking the progress as it came OUT of total eclipse. So these shots are of the moon GOING INTO total eclipse... and no.....I do not use a tripod. I stand up against the outside brick wall of my house and try to prop the back of my one upper arm against the brick to steady it a bit......point up and shoot. I am only using a 5 MP digital Lumix camera and zoomed to 40x.

Cool pictures Melinda! I only stayed up until 10:00 or so to see it. I didn't take any pictures.

well these are not the best. ONCE it became darker and more covered it was very difficult for me with my camera to capture that. I would have loved to because it was all red and was very cool looking.

On one of the blogs I go to all the time I saw their version and they were very good. Looked almost like a pro had taken them. I assume they also had a tripod. Anyway they were also nice.

I like your photos and I don't know if you had a tripod or not but I went out before it all started and took a picture of the moon and it took a long time to get the thing in the view finder. LOL

I remembered it about 10:05, but when I looked out, wasn't sure where to be looking for the moon, it was so dark. Earlier is was in the East and a very bright whitish color. So as usual, I missed it. Love you

Ohhh! Ahhh! Spectacular! Love your shots! I'd wanted to take some photos and remembered around 10:30 p.m. Unfortunately, my spirit was willing but my body was NOT. I was too exhausted to get dressed and go outside, hunting for the moon, not knowing which way to look -- north, south, etc... I'm happy to look at your photos.
