Creative Every Day Challenge 2009......my rough sketch of Opie.....

I worked...taught Noah his school...cleaned the house.....did dishes..laundry....and found myself with some extra time left over. I sat down next to the cat.....and he was sleeping so cute....I decided I had no excuses to not try doing something creative. My goal this week was to sketch something.....not spend a lot of time on it.....but to sketch something. I did this in about 1 hour. I still have to tweak the body and feet....and then add more details to the face/eyes....I can see the finished work in my mind....but I am too tired to finish it tonight as 4:00 a.m. comes too early for me!

(this is for a challenge I am participating in this year - see sidebar for details if interested)

I like what I can see, Melinda. I used to enjoy making sketches but for some reason gave it up. Maybe the computer did it. Becky used to sketch a lot too. Not sure about the rest, except Chris. He still does. I also put him on my Brookville Daily Photo blog today.

I saw another drawing that you made a long time ago but I am not allowed to tell you about it. I think they want to suprise you with it one of these days.

ha...oh wonderful...I can only imagine what that might be. I know I did toss a few of my old paintings and things I did in art a long time ago...not sure why as I sort of wish I had kept some of them now. Hard telling what it is you are talking about but hopefully it was something good and not bad. I think I did a Charles Manson sketch once for art class and I would not want that one back!

I think that drawing is so sweet...love it.I just have fiddled around with drawing with paint on my laptop...I use the mouse and make little cartoons...I should do that challenge too...
I look forward to seeing more of your drawings.

This is terrific! Great job. This year, I'd like to take an art class -- I'd like to start out with a drawing class. That's what I'd like to do.
